Privacy Policy & Cookie Policy

Effective Date: June 25, 2026 | Last Updated: June 27, 2026

1. Introduction & Data Controller Information

GetInvoicePDF.com ("the Site," "we," "us," or "our") is a free, client-side invoice generation utility designed for cross-border freelancers and independent professionals. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the Site.

The Data Controller responsible for this Site is Santanu Sarma. For any privacy-related inquiries, data subject requests, or compliance correspondence, please contact:

Email: hello@getinvoicepdf.com

By using GetInvoicePDF.com, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

2. The Client-Side Exemption: How Your Invoice Data Is Handled

This is the most important section of this Policy. Please read it carefully.

GetInvoicePDF.com is architected as a fully client-side application. This means:

  • No server transmission. When you enter invoice details — including but not limited to client names, billing addresses, invoice numbers, line-item descriptions, monetary amounts, tax identification numbers (such as GSTIN or VAT numbers), and bank or payment routing details — this information is processed entirely within your web browser, using your device's local memory and/or local storage.
  • No collection by us. None of this invoice content is transmitted to, received by, stored on, or otherwise accessible to our servers, our database, or Santanu Sarma as the site operator. We do not operate a backend database for invoice content, and we have no technical capability to view, retrieve, or recover any invoice data you generate.
  • You control deletion. Because this data exists only in your browser session or local storage, it can be cleared at any time by closing your browser tab, clearing your browser cache, or using your browser's "clear site data" function. We have no copy to delete on our end because we never received one.
  • Your responsibility for local security. Since invoice data resides on your device, you are responsible for the physical and digital security of that device (e.g., not using the tool on shared/public computers for sensitive financial data).

We consider this architecture a privacy-by-design safeguard, and it is the legal basis for our representation that we do not "collect," "process," or "store" personal or financial invoice data within the meaning of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or India's DPDP Act, with respect to the content you type into the invoice generator itself.

Important Distinction — Technical Metadata: While invoice content and all financial figures you enter remain exclusively within your browser and never leave your device, standard technical metadata generated as a byproduct of browsing the Site — such as your IP address and browser type/version — is inherently transmitted to and securely processed by the third-party scripts we operate for Site delivery and monetisation, specifically Google AdSense (for advertising) and Wise (for affiliate referral attribution). This metadata processing is governed by the Data Processors table in Section 3.3 below and the respective privacy policies of those processors. It is functionally separate from, and does not include, any invoice data you create.

3. Cookie Policy

While invoice content never reaches our servers, the Site does use cookies and similar tracking technologies for the limited purposes described below.

3.1 Essential Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser local storage and/or session-based cookies to remember non-sensitive UI preferences, such as your selected currency, template choice, or interface settings. These are functional in nature, do not leave your device, and are not used for tracking or advertising purposes.

3.2 Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense / DoubleClick DART)

This Site displays advertisements served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — to serve ads based on your visits to this Site and other sites on the internet. Those cookies enable Google to deliver personalized or contextual advertising, measure ad performance, and limit the number of times you see a given ad.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

EEA & UK Residents — Mandatory Prior Consent: If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, no non-essential cookies (including advertising and affiliate tracking cookies) will be set in your browser without your explicit, prior opt-in consent. This consent is obtained through a Consent Management Platform (CMP) presented to you upon your first visit to the Site. You may withdraw or modify your consent choices at any time by accessing the cookie preference centre via the link in the Site footer. Continued browsing of the Site without interacting with the CMP consent prompt does not constitute implied consent for the purposes of the GDPR or the UK GDPR.

3.3 Third-Party Data Processors

The following table identifies the third-party data processors who may receive technical metadata (such as IP addresses and cookie identifiers) in connection with your use of the Site. All processors are contractually bound to use this data only for the stated purpose and in accordance with applicable data protection law.

Processor Purpose Data Processed Privacy Policy
Google LLC
(AdSense / DoubleClick)
Advertising delivery, ad personalisation, and performance measurement IP address, cookie identifiers, browsing behaviour Google Privacy Policy
Wise Payments Ltd Affiliate referral attribution (tracking qualifying sign-ups referred from this Site) Click-through cookie identifiers, referral parameters Wise Privacy Policy

3.4 Affiliate Cookies (Wise)

We participate in the Wise for Business affiliate referral program. When you click an outbound link to Wise from our Site, a tracking cookie or URL parameter may be placed to attribute any resulting sign-up or account creation back to GetInvoicePDF.com. This cookie is set and controlled by Wise (or its affiliate network), not by us directly, and is governed by Wise's own privacy policy.

3.5 How to Opt Out of Cookies

You have several options to control or disable cookies:

  • Browser Settings: Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies via their privacy/security settings.
  • Google Ads Settings: Manage or opt out of personalized advertising from Google at adsettings.google.com.
  • Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): Opt out at optout.networkadvertising.org.
  • Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA): Opt out at optout.aboutads.info.

Please note that disabling cookies may affect certain non-essential features of the Site but will not impair your ability to generate invoices.

4. Data Subject Rights

4.1 Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, portability, and withdraw consent. Requests can be sent to hello@getinvoicepdf.com.

4.2 Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act, 2023)

If you are located in India, GetInvoicePDF.com acts as a Data Fiduciary within the meaning of the DPDP Act, 2023, with respect to the technical metadata (such as IP addresses and browser identifiers) that is processed in connection with your use of the Site. As a reminder, no invoice content you generate ever leaves your browser; only technical metadata is subject to this designation.

As a Data Principal (user) in India, you have the following rights under the DPDP Act: the right to obtain a summary of your personal data being processed; the right to correction and erasure of inaccurate or incomplete personal data; the right to grievance redressal; and the right to withdraw consent.

Grievance Redressal Mechanism (DPDP Act, Section 13): In compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, GetInvoicePDF.com has designated the following contact as the point of contact for grievance redressal:

All grievances submitted to this address will receive a written acknowledgment within 48 hours of receipt, and will be resolved or escalated in accordance with the timelines prescribed under the DPDP Act and its associated Rules. If you are dissatisfied with the resolution provided, you may escalate your complaint to the Data Protection Board of India, once constituted.

4.3 Under the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA

California residents may exercise rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing. Limited advertising-cookie data may be shared with Google.

5. Children's Privacy

GetInvoicePDF.com is intended exclusively for use by adult professionals engaged in freelance or business invoicing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. The applicable digital consent age thresholds differ by jurisdiction:

  • United States (COPPA): Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, the minimum age for digital consent is 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 in the United States.
  • European Economic Area (GDPR Article 8): Under the General Data Protection Regulation, the minimum age for a child to provide valid consent to data processing is strictly 16 years old across the EEA (Member States may lower this to a minimum of 13, but we apply the higher threshold of 16 as a baseline). Users under 16 in the EEA must not use this Site without verifiable parental or guardian consent.

Data Purge Commitment: If we become aware, by any means, that a minor falling below the applicable age threshold in their jurisdiction is using or has used this Site, we will immediately cease any processing of that individual's technical metadata and will purge any such data from our systems and from our third-party processors without undue delay. To report a suspected minor or to request purging of a minor's data, please send written notice to: hello@getinvoicepdf.com. We will treat all such notices as urgent and respond within 48 hours.

We may update this Privacy Policy. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
